“Humanoid vs. Nature” Inspire 1.5 Art Contest begins February 22nd

"Humanoid vs. Nature", Thierry Schiel
Okay, people, its time to rev those creative engines and flex those index fingers, there’s an art contest in FP Land!
MobilArt Books and Kiwipixel have partnered to launch the “Humanoid vs. Nature” iPhone/iPod Art Contest. The theme of the contest is to create a piece that reflects beings of all kinds (real or imagined) confronting/interacting with nature. The contest is open to artists of all backgrounds and the only other criteria beyond the theme is that you exclusively use the Inspire app (painting app for iPhone) to create your piece. Thierry Schiel of MobilArt Books provided two examples (featured here and on contest site).
The award is pretty awesome too. Some lucky (and talented) fingerpainter will win $500 plus an interview and spread feature in the “Humanoid vs. Nature” edition of MobilArt Books, an ebook on iphone art, artists and tutorials, which will be released at the end of the competition. Pretty sweet deal, hunh?!
And for the other artists, there’s even still some leftover winnings–MobilArt plans to feature additional works from the competition.
So, put your best finger forward, download Inspire 1.5 (if you don’t already have it) and get to work! May the best fingerpainted Humanoid win!
Contest begins Monday February 22, 2010. Submissions deadline is March 14, 2010. Each artist can submit up to 3 pieces for consideration. For more information on Inspire, MobilArt Books, the art contest or rules for submissions, click here.
